The Wilson Blade Version 7.0 Serena Williams 102 Serena's personal racket.
• Integrated Countervail Technology maximises player energy, consistency and precision
• Design features black elastic matte base with gloss finish at 3 & 9 and tip
• Inside of throat lists words of inspiration to describe Serena's journey
• Braided Graphite construction delivers a pure, classic feel
• Parallel Drilling provides a consistent, more forgiving string bed response
Initially seen on court at the 2020 Australian Open as a blacked-out prototype, the new SW102 was co-developed with the four-time Olympic gold-medal champion. Serena spent nearly a year working with Wilson LABS play-testing prototypes to create a racket that supported her signature power while providing enhanced control.
The hallmark characteristic of the SW102 tennis racket is its smaller head size—102 square inches versus the 104 square inches of her previous Blade SW104 Autograph racket.
“I love my previous Blade tennis racket, and it’s been a huge part of my game, but I knew I needed to make adjustments,” Serena Williams said. “A tennis racket is such a sensitive thing. I talked with Wilson about wanting more control and what that could look like, and importantly, feel like.
"So, we got to work. I am really into technology and trying new things out. And while the process was long, we ultimately designed exactly what I need for my game. I’ve had this new racket in my hands for most of this year, and it just feels right.”
The former world No. 1 used her new stick en route to the US Open semi finals and said she's had fun playing with the smaller head size.
"I’m one of the few players, along with Venus, who played with a 104," Serena said last week. "I got a smaller head size. My head shape is unheard of and Wilson did that. They created a 102 which is literally off the charts.
"Definitely my whole career I’ve been above 100. Now I’m at my lowest point and enjoying it."
Working with Serena, Wilson LABS co-developed and play-tested nine different 102-inch prototypes before ultimately landing on the final design.
The new Blade SW102 Autograph is two inches smaller in its head size than her previous frame. Although a seemingly minor change, the decreased head size allowed Wilson LABS engineers to modify the racket’s flex points along its string bed and frame to add the level of control Serena Williams was looking for without impacting the power of her play.
“We took the same stiffness and feel she loved in her previous racket and re-engineered it into a smaller geometry. With a smaller frame, you naturally add control,” said Ron Rocchi, Advanced Innovation and Player Insight Manager for Wilson Racket Sports.
The all-new aesthetic of the Blade SW102 Autograph reflects Serena's style with accents in her favourite colour—gold.
In continuing the minimalistic design DNA of Wilson high-performance rackets, the Blade SW102 Autograph features a stealthy black finish accented with Serena Williams-inspired gold at the racket’s hoop rather than the Blade's traditional green and black cosmetic. The stick highlights Serena Williams’ signature and communicates words of encouragement along the inside throat of the racket.

Trying out a racket before you buy can be a great way of making sure you get the correct racket for you. We have invested in creating a huge range of demo rackets for our customers to try. There are two different ways of testing rackets with us. Please read carefully before borrowing a racket. Our demo rackets are kept in the best condition possible and restrung whenever needed. However we cannot restring demo rackets specifically for each customer.
1) Pick up a racket in store: A deposit of £5 per racket will be charged each time you demo a racket. This is non refundable but will be taken off any future purchase of those frames (not transferrable to other items). Only one £5 fee can be taken off each purchase. Customers are allowed to borrow up to THREE rackets each time, subject to availability for up to 1 week. You will be expected to return rackets to the shop promptly otherwise future testing may be refused.
2) Demo by post: To borrow a racket test when you can't make it to our store, find the racket you like on our site, select the demo option (not available on every racket) and place your order, paying the £49.99 deposit. Only ONE racket may be sent at a time by post. We will send out your ordered demo racket as soon as one is available (there may be a waiting list). Customers will be expected to return the demo racket after up to 1 week of light playtesting. Return the racket in the box they came in by your choice of courier. We suggest Parcelforce, DHL or UPS. Please note this will be at your own expense.
After the racket is received back at the shop we will send you a discount code to get £30.00 off your chosen racket. If you choose not to buy that racket we will refund £30.00 of your deposit.
We reserve the right to reduce the amount of discount/refund at our managers discretion should any demo rackets come back damaged more than we feel is reasonable for playtesting. If rackets are not returned for any reason including being lost in transit then deposits will not be refunded. You will not be charged for any string breakages whilst testing a racket.
